THIS MOMENT IS DIFFERENT FROM NOW
About my sculptures
The physiognomy of a shadow as replacement for a physical presence consists of a projection onto a deformed configuration. The original presence has been replaced by an imaginary projection in present time. Hypothesis The Present or Now, which occurs at the moment we believe we are observing, is an illusion resulting from associations. The Present is a variable unit of time, dependent on the individual, in which there is a high probability that activities might occur. All associative experiences form the building blocks for the illusion of the Present. If we assume that the Present is an illusion created by associations, then the depiction of the Past is a projection, that can be connected to the Present only if there are gaps in the associative experiences of the Present. But that would lead to the Present being an imaginary world from the past. Our reality occurs when the beginning coincides with the end and this Begin-ending represents the past. If the moment of reality is the Present or Now, without a past or a future, and lies somewhere between the beginning and the end, it is in fact infinite. If 'I' exists according to the same principle. Í' is an illusion, a shadow, a weightless projection on an imaginary world of uncontrolled associative experiences. EVERYTHING LIES IN THE PAST FURTHER IN THE PAST THAN NOW EVERYTHING IS DIFFERENT DIFFERENT THAN NOW Per Abramsen
