| Averse to subsequent trends, Arie de Groot has developed a uniquely personal idiom. Arresting are often the simplicity of form and composition, the reticent color scheme and a repetitive, often grit like structure. De Groot often uses (non western) Folk Art as a point of reference. “The combination of the most basic with the most beautiful.”
