Belongs nowhere and to another timeBelongs nowhere and to another time. The installation Belongs nowhere and to another time by Belu-Simion Fainaru relates to issues of identity, place, time and individuality in an era of global culture, while critically addressing the topics of place (lessness), local identity and culturein view of the changes occurring today. It seeks to explore the desire to define a spaceof shelter that seems to be lost, an impermanent habitation, a place where we cantemporarily recreate the uncertain universe of home and, simultaneously, a collective history. ‘stil’ In 2019 De Ketelfactory celebrates its 10-year anniversary. A wonderful occasion to bring together all artists who ever exhibited work here. Winnie Teschmacher invited them to create a work of art about ‘silence’, no bigger than 30 x 30 x 30 cm. Ketefactory, Schiedam

Pieter Laurens Mol

The work of Pieter Laurens Mol (1946) often features references to Vincent van Gogh. Both artists are originally from Brabant. In several works, Mol explores the personal significance of these shared beginnings. Memories of Pieter Laurens Mol’s native region in Brabant play an important role in his work. With the works that he selected especially for this presentation, he is keen to also stimulate visitors’ memories. Mol’s artworks are packed with dual meanings. Numerous works allude to the past, or contain hints towards a painting by Vincent van Gogh. With his presentation, Mol wants to create a refuge during the museum visit: ‘I hope to create resonance, something that invites reflection’.
